The Borrowed Dress in Göttingen and Hannover by the Syrian Expat Philharmonic Orchestra
My piece 'The Borrowed Dress', based on my filmscore for Leen Faisal's award-winning documentary The Borrowed Dress', was performed yesterday at the beautiful Deutsches Theater in Göttingen pictured below, and is being performed today at the Markuskirche Hannover. Who's performing? My favourite orchestra in the world, the Syrian Expat Philharmonic Orchestra - SEPO with friends I love including Raghad Haddad whom I really wish I could be with today! Conducted by the wonderful Ghassan Alaboud. It was also an honour to have the wonderful Syrian poet Adnan Alaouda recite a touching poem of his along with my piece. I heard that many tears were shed in the audience! I don't like to make people cry, but knowing that my music touched their hearts means the world.
As always, thank you Raed Jazbeh and Falko Hönisch. (Poster art by the one and only Kevork Mourad)
